*Locking pin backs are great to use with heavier pins, as well as pins that are going on backpacks and bags. No tool is required and you shouldn't have to use a lot of force to remove a locking pin back. We've found the easiest way is to press on the area that is closest to the pin while pulling on the top tab to release the grip. (If it's your first time dealing with one of these, it may take a few tries to get the hang of. We do test each locking pin back to make sure they are removable.)
